Lab-Grown Diamonds, Explained

Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds. They are made of carbon arranged in the same crystal structure as mined stones, so they have the same hardness, fire and brilliance. The difference is where they formed.

How they are made

Growers recreate the heat and pressure found deep underground, or build the crystal layer by layer from carbon-rich gas. Either way the result is a diamond, not a lookalike such as cubic zirconia.

Graded on the same scale

Lab-grown stones are graded on the familiar four Cs: cut, color, clarity and carat. Our pieces use near-colorless stones in the E to F color range with VS clarity, which means any inclusions are hard to see without magnification.

Why people choose them

For the same budget you can usually go bigger or choose a heavier setting. That makes lab-grown a natural fit for bold pieces like iced pendants and wide tennis chains.
